Hi, Thanks,. Unfortunately no pics. The parents don't even want me looking at the eggs(come right up to the glass with gills flaring). I think tonight they are hatching . The parents keeping pecking at the clutch and rush up to the cave then swim back out and pick at the clutch, then swim back to the cave, and so forth. they seem to fight too locking jaws , but not as much but when the eggs were freshly laid they were doing it a lot.

Awesome! Congrats and good luck with the fry.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

sorry to hear. New pairs often need a few tries to get it right. They will be pros after a few more attempts. My old midas pair spawned 3x and could not get the fry to hatch but my centrarchus pair got it right the first time so it depends.

aww, hopefully they'll get better ,are they in their own tank ?

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
