Going to be entering the world of Cichilids

Iv purchased a 120us gal aquarium and am planning on going into rift valley cichilids, iv got a 2000lph cannister filter so far and im still in the planning mode.

As far as the fis go its to early to decide on which yet but i would really like to know if there is ANY plants i could have that wont be destroyed!!! I like the look of the all rock and sand tanks but for me i like pants! Any help will be appriciated.

Also are there any tank mates suitable for rift valley cichilids that arent cichilids?

Jave Fern and Anubias are known to work with cichlids although it can depend on what cichlids you get, some will test them and some will avoid them.

In terms of tanks mates, synodontis and BristleNose Plecos, anything else and it is risky as cichlids can be quite aggressive compared to other species.

In my research I have found that Jungle Vals (Vallisneria Americana var. americana), Wisteria, Water Sprite and Crinim (Onion Plant) are also known to survive being in a cichlid tank.

Jungle Vals they will eat, at least to try them, water sprite can sometimes work although not always.

Onion plant does work.
