german rams should be kept in groups of....?

I am getting conflicting answers from big al's, where i buy my fish. Does anyone out there know? I was told groups of 5 and then I was told only one at a time, weird. i heard that in groups they can become agressive and i don't want my angels to get hurt.

Thank you for your help :)

i keep mine in a group of 6 and rarely do they show any signs of aggression, i think keeping them in a group brings out better colouring too. So anyway, 5-6 works well 4 me... if that helps ya

for a group you need a larger tank then most recommend. IMO 4 in a 30 breeder would be a good start. I've kept 6 in a 55 gallon and they didn't bother each other too much. They have a pecking order thought so make sure there are lots of hidey spots just in case. I had two pair off and spawn in my 55 gallon, only then did they not get aggressive if any fish entered their bubble. Once they were done though everything went back to normal.

.... I'm probably drunk.

This is how I lurk
