The coral will help to raise the ph but remember malwans like a high ph at least 7.4 all the way up to 8.5 and can do well higher. I have been told by some that ph is overated but fish can be burned iff it goes really acidic and I have seen that happen. If you were interested in spawning the water has a lot to do with this being successful. Put a few fish in the tank to help it cycle, i also use a starter bacteria added to the tank to help speed up the process. the name escapes me right now. I have heard horror stories about aurautas but i have never had any difficulties as long as they have room. They will get along with demansoni with room.I would have at least 3f to 1m ratio and i would keep at least 3 or 4 demons together as they do better in groups.

rltmusicman, I would have to disagree with you on the Demasoni's. As in small groups of 3 to 4 The most dominate male will kill of the Rest of the them, as he wil chase and harass them causing stress, Also he will nip there fins.
I know this from experience.

Im not trying to say your wrong. But i have not had any luck with any smaller groups then 10 or herd of any one else haveing luck with smaller groups.
