Fish attacking only female fish of smaller species?

My cichlids are attacking fish which is normal so I moved the others but they are only attacking/eating female fish, just curious any information would do thanks :)

a few questions if you wouldn't mind.
what size is your tank.
what decor have you got in there
any plants.
what kind of cichlids are they
what is the ratio of males to females.

if you can answer these questions please people may be able to help.
