First Discus Fatality

Sad to announce, the smallest discus finally passed away. He has been getting anorexic since the 3rd week of August while the rest are doing quite well.
He refused to eat even bloodworms but the rest of my discus eat like pigs.

I became worried when he didn't eat for almost 2 months. But there's nothing I can do about it.

These things happen Blue, and there's nothing you can do.

Sorry to hear about your discus.

Sorry to hear about it, Blue :( It's hard to accept fish loss when 1) you've become attached to them, and 2) you're a good fishkeeper and have had better luck with so many more that are long-lived. We just have to remind ourselves that fish don't live forever (not easy, i know).

Hi Kate and Blue_gourami45.

Thanks.:) It's hard to accept fish deaths though. The death of an expensive fish is a big blow to me.
I have long anticipated that it'll die anytime but I hate to think that such expensive fish will die.
Now, this reminds me to pay a phone call tomorrow to my friend to inform him that the discus I bought from him finally passed away.

Thanks again, Kate and blue_gourami45.:)

Blue,
Order some Lavamisole online for the future.
I had 5 anorexic Albino Marlboros and it turns out that anorexia is caused by an internal parasite. I was too late to save four of them ('cause I'm stupid), but I saved the 5th. The person that I got them from had had them for a year with no problems, but the stress of the move from his place to mine either caused the parasite to become more active, or the stress made them unable to fight the problem any more. Turns out a peaceful fish can have them dormant at all times (similar to gill flukes)
