Finding a mate for my mature Red Devil...
She is about 2.5 years old, and just gorgeous. I've never bred fish (except convicts, which is apparently an add water, get babies situation) before but I consider myself to be a responsible owner and I have a local shop as well as some friends lined up who would be interested in any fry.
Problem is finding her a mate. She has never had a tankmate, and is about 8" long. Most things I've read say to let them pair off on their own from juveniles, and that they are (obviously) aggressive about these things. I dont want to injure her or any male I get in the introduction. Does anyone have any ideas, recommendation or experience in this situation? Should I abandon the idea of breeding her?
