Feeder Fish?

So People Say LFS Feeder Fish Are Not A Good idea I Have A Spare 20 gallon Tank AN i Want To Breed My Own Feeder Fish What Is My Best Options?

I would get either mollies or guppies. They both are capable of producing lots of fry.
I have some mollies in with my archer fish and they give him a nice snack every few weeks. I always hope that he finds them all before I do, because for some reason I always feel the need to rescue.

I agree with not buying them at the LFS, never know what kind of disease you will introduce to your tank.

What type of fish are you feeding?

Look up what the fish stores use. They use them because they're easy to breed for cheap...meaning they're strong and can be densely packed (not super sensitive to water). My lfs's have minnows.

im feeding 3 flowerhorns, a green terror a jaguar an a few electric blue dempsys if i put mollies or guppies in the 20 is there any breeding conditions they need or can i jus throw a bunch of them in the tank an wait

They will need a heater, filter, food, and water changes. Same needs as your other fish.
The 20 gal is not cycled, perhaps you can seed it with filter media from another tank.

I agree with twistersmom. Guppies or mollies are your best bet. 1:3 male-female ratio is good for breeding. Egg-layers such as minnows and goldfish tend to produce more, but require extra effort in breeding. Livebearers don't need much assistance in breeding, but you do need to provide lots of hiding places for your fry, as they could get eaten by the parents. But after about a week I think they'll be big enough to not be food.

Generally, larger females produce more fry. I have a large black molly female and she squirts out fry like machinegun bullets. lol
I feed some of the fry (a few days old) to my bettas. It's just the right size for them.
