Duboisi Problems

My Tropheus Duboisi has suddenly just stopped eating. Nothing has really changed in my tank other than the introduction of a Demasoni but they didnt care about each other when i watched them. Anything would be helpful to as why he stopped eating. Oh and I've had the tank for about a month.

If its female it could well be holding eggs in her throat cavity, other than that it could be aggression issues which in another post I did say you might encounter with the mix of fish you had.

Yeah I remember the aggression part, but the Duboisi seemed to lunge at the Demasoni, and is the Duboisi even old enough to have eggs? It still has its spots and is still pretty small. The Duboisi did this weird thing where it would put the side of its body towards the Demasoni and let him "sniff" it essentially. Then it would lunge at the Demasoni. Also how can I easily tell the gender of it?

The short answer is a lot of aggression which could be a cause goes unnoticed by us. There was always going to an issue having this fish in the tank with your proposed tank mates as mentioned in another thread.

The fact with the addition of the Demansoni which even at the best of times is still a very aggressive fish makes matters even worse. A Demansoni can turn on a dime and be a total terror, killing anything it feels like.

This aggression can be displayed from a young age and directed towards any fish regardless of size.

The dubosi is also well known to actual bloat up if you sometimes look at it the wrong way...again it is not a beginners fish and even experienced keepers have problems with them. Mine when I had it was an absolute nightmare and I had to remove it, no matter what I did it was still extremely aggressive.

Try feeding it a piece of lettuce or spinach and see if it takes it, this should be given daily as part of its diet anyway.
