I had 6 tigers in with my JD and female salvini and now I'm down to 2. A couple did get sick and die but a couple were murdered. Not sure if it was the JD or the sal though.

150 Gallon - Mostly American Cichlids
135 Gallon - Angelfish Community
75 Gallon - Odd couple (Polleni/Angelfish)
55 Gallon - African tank
20 Gallon Long - QT
10 Gallon - Empty

You are right. Larger tank would be needed within a year to house them. As mentioned,, I would if I felt the need for dithers, go with the smaller .cheaper,Barbs.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

I think the danios might do better than the tigers. They're a bit bigger, are usually sold larger in the first place, seem faster (but who's really pulling out the radar gun for their fish?) and are generally cheaper. That, and they tend to stay closer to the surface than the tigers.

i tried rosy barbs in the hopes they would get big enough fast enough, but the tank is having trouble stabilizing after adding the royal pleco. lost a few, ill try again.

anyone seen fire barbs before? they look like orange rosys

Dedicated, converted, lowes / home depot bulb buyer!
