You might want to kick up the temp to 84. That's what I was advised to do as 82 is the low end for discus. So all your other discus are eating well except the one with the white stringy poo?

I know you said he/she wasn't eating. You might want to try the live worm/medicine soak like I did. It's what finally got my discus to eat, and since ingesting the meds the improvement has been fantastic. Her poo is firm, hard and dark, she is now eating other foods and gained back all the weight she had lost. Tomorrow she goes back into the display. It was a total of 15 days of treatment and knock wood, a success.

Keep me posted and I wish you luck!

You will have to call around to your LFSs in order to find out which of them sells live black worms. Don't bother with Petco, Petsmart, etc. I doubt any of the chain stores sells live black worms and even if they did I'm sure they would be of poor quality.

Black worms are a type of tubifex worm, but NOT a brown tubifex worm. You do NOT want to feed brown tubifex worms as these carry "nasties" that can make your fish sick. I know that feeding the medicine soaked black worms is what healed my fish. I was sure she was a goner, but this morning she looks better than ever.

When you do find a source that sells the live black worms ask them on which day(s) they receive deliveries. My LFS gets them in on Tuesdays and Fridays so those are the days I purchase my worms. You want the freshest worms possible. You store the worms in the frig. I keep mine in a sandwich size plastic container with a lid. I've cut a huge hole in the lid so the worms can "breathe". Once a day I pull the container out of the frig and fill it with water, give the container a few gentle swirls, and after the worms have settled back to the bottom of the container I carefully pour the water out of the container. You want to store the worms with enough water to keep them moist, but not so much that they "drown". About 1/16th" of an inch of water is suffice. I always rinse off the portion of worms that I take from the container before I feed the portion to my fish.

I hope you can find some live black worms in your area. Your fish will recover more quickly by ingesting the meds. Good luck and keep me posted!
