I'm actually in the process of treating one of my discus for parasites at this very moment. How long have you had this fish? What symptoms are presenting? How many discus? Do you have a hospital tank you can set up?

I'm not saying this is what you should do as I do not know what is wrong with your discus fish. My apricot stopped eating all together, became emaciated and then started having long, stringy, white mucous looking poo. I removed her from the display tank and put her into a 10gl hospital tank I set up for her. I have been treating her with Metronidazole for eight days.
My big break though came last night as she has now started eating. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she continues to eat, puts on weight and goes back to having regular looking poo.

what brand metro are you using? are you mixing it in the food or adding it straight to the water?

I'm using Seachem's Metro. I'm adding it to the water, exactly as prescribed. Since she is now eating as of yesterday I'm also soaking her food in the Metro. I'm not out of the woods yet but this morning I'm seeing normal poo coming from her.

Refresh my memory on your tank. Size of tank? How many and exactly what other inhabitants are in the tank besides the discus? What size are your discus? Did you QT them before adding them to your tank three months ago? What temp are you keeping the tank? What foods have you been feeding your discus? Prior to this were they all good eaters?

My apricot has been in the hospital tank since 2/24 and didn't start eating until 3/3. I had to resort to live foods in order to get her to eat. Since I finally was able to get her to ingest the medication improvement has been exponential. What finally got her eating was live black worms, which I soak in Metro before feeding. Prior to this I'd never used live foods.

Can we get more info on your tank and fish? What size if your hospital tank and if need be are you able to get it set up?

55 gallon planted tank. temperature 82 farenheit. Yes all of them always have been aggressive eaters except one.well that discus has white feces..but the other guys have stringy feces but eat alot! I have a 10 gallon tank that I could set up... I have eight discus around 3 or 3 1/2 inches in there with some small tetras..I know 8 is to much for a 55 gallon tank but im in the proses of buying a house. After I move im going to try to buy the biggest tank I could get! I am so hooked on aquariums.. :o)
