If I want my discus to grow faster, how many water changes can I do without stressing them out? How big of water changes? How often? How many is too many or too often?

Stick with a bare-bottom tank so you can clean the tank without difficulties. You can feed them several times a day without trying to overfeed. As for water changes, I try to stick to 50-60% on daily basis but you'll hear from most discus enthusiasts that they do 80-90% water change 2-3 times a week.

IMO, the more water changes, the better. The more frequent, even better.

with bare tank you can see the over feed.

at least try to do water changes 10% daily.

but if you can do a half water changes daily it is perfect
( ofcourse it need a tank in a same size as your discus tank to stack ur water.)

Water changes should be with aged water. 25%, twice a week should be sufficient unles there a multitudes of fish and/or you feed too heavily.

as far as making them grow faster i've read that if you keep your water on the higher end of the comfortable discus spectrum it will increase their metabolism, increasing their intake of food, and making them grow faster. I'm not sure if this is good for the long term health of the fish but it seems to be a way to make them grow faster.
