Discus female or male

I have two Discus about 6 months and 8 months. I know how to tell if there male and female but how long does it take before I should know if they are male and female. Right now it seem to look like they are both female. They have no pointy fin its rounded.

You'll have to wait until they actually spawn. The ovipositor of the female should be short, blunt and positioned almost backward whereas males have them pointed and positioned almost forward.

Question also I am getting a 55 gallon tank in the first week of december. How many Discus could I put in there? I have two now.

3-4 max i would say, but im no Discus expert.

Another wierd thing I noticed is now that my Discus are a lot better and eating they have become very shy and they never used to be like that.

I am not an expert at all, but I've read they are supposed to be shy by nature...

Just wondering I have a 30 gallon tanks with everything. How much money should I ask for it? All it would need is water and fish. It even comes with rocks and plants.
