You'll have to wait until they actually spawn. The ovipositor of the female should be short, blunt and positioned almost backward whereas males have them pointed and positioned almost forward.

about 6 months and 8 months. I know how to tell if there male and female but how long does it take before I should know if they are male and female. Right now it seem to look like they are both female. They have no pointy fin its rounded.
