Do discus fish feed off the surface or do they wait for the food to drop before eating?

Both. Most will do the former. Others will do the latter. Mine used to do the latter but as they have already become acclimated to my tank, they feed on the surface often even snapping on insects that hover above my lotus plants.

I'm ready for the pressure.
The drama and the pleasure!
If there is one thing I want to see here, it's HUMOR.
I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!
I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.
