Developing Jack Dempsey mating pair..

Is a 55 gallon aquarium big enough to develop a mating pair of JDs? I'm interested in getting an electric blue and a normal variant so as to breed ebjd's..I've bred kribs, red jewels and angelfish to this point. Is getting a pair similar operation with these bigger cichlids? I have a 135 to set up, but I'm pretty green with the set-up, it could take me awhile.

I don't really think this answers your questions, but it does talk about some other stuff in regards to breeding for EBJDs. Don't know if you'll find it useful, but Out of the Blue! Breeding the Electric Blue Jack Dempsey | Details | Articles | TFH MagazineŽ
