Dealing with AngelFish

I'm getting a brand new 75 gallon tank soon and all the fish in my 29 will be moving. I plan on taking the 29 gallon and making an angelfish tank out of it. My question is, Is it possible to make an angelfish tank out of a 29 gallon? How many angels could i have in there? What other fish could i pair them with? (Kinda planing on putting a pleco in there)

I started with 3 angels in my 55 and ultimately ended up with one large male. They get pretty big so a 29g would be ok for juveniles and sub adults but full grown angels will need more space. Start with several, they will pair (if you happen to get male & female) and you can then remove the rest. I apparently had all males and after quite a bit of aggression as they got older ultimate ended up removing all but one.
Ours does well with a large Bala Shark, assorted large rainbows, a Clown Loach, rubbernose pleco, Flying Fox and eel. There's also a dojo loach that's fairly small but he hides in my anubia and knowone bothers him.

I was just going to have 2 just in-case they paired off. The only other fish i wanted with them were some powder Blue Gourami's

i acquired some angels and have two in my 29 gallon high tank with quite an assortment of fish. since they were kind of rescues, i only had the one place to put them, but if i had my pick, i'd just put one angelfish in it. I am going to upgrade if i can.

so if i were you, i'd do one, or get a different centerpiece fish.

I have 2 in my 29...one adult and one juvenile. The adult picked on the juvenile for a few weeks. I was told by a local breeder that adding a 3rd wheel would stop the aggression, Once I added the 3rd they all got along very well...in other words they all ignored each other. Unfortunately the full grown angel died for reasons unknown..but the original adult and juvenile still get along very well. I have cories and harlequin rasboras in with the angels...I highly suggest the rasboras! they are very pretty fish and school better than any schooling fish I've tried before. I have 6 rasboras and 8 cories{a mix of salt and pepper and albinos}

Interesting, Relic! Now you make me want to get a third angel....but I'm kinda over stocked already, and my one angel would probably torture it.

As it notes in our profile, angelfish are shoaling fish that live in groups. Your 75g would be a good tank for a group of 5-6 angelfish. Aside from a group, you run risks; a mated pair (angels do not accept any mate) in a 29g is fine, but I wouldnot recommend anything else. Check the profile for more.

Here is an updated pic..The smaller angel is camera shy. He/she cruises the front of the tank constantly...that is until I pull out the camera, then he/she hides behind the melon sword.
