convict tank...tankmates?

My 29 gal seems pretty lonely with three convicts which are still pretty small. I was wondering if there are any other cichlids that would make good tankmates or that I could add to my now abandoned 10 gal.

Problem with convicts is that they don't stay small. Five or six inches when adults and they are often not very tolerable of other fish especially if you should happen to have a male and female who decide to spawn.
I believe judging from your past posts, that you are hoping someone will offer you different advice than what you have recieved on this topic going back a month or more ,and I would be suspect of any advice other than what has already been expressed. People often purchase convicts much the way they do livebearer's cause they hear that they are easy to breed which is true. The difference between the two species is that livebearer fry are much more easily given away or sold, convict fry are often hard to GIVE away due to their disposisition as has been mentioned. There simply aren't any suitable tankmates for convicts in 29 gal.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

I have to agree. The fact you now have 3 of them means that if there a male and a female, the third one will be killed. My convict tank also only have one male and one female.
They dont even accept another female in the same tank. I've even tried to put a pleco in there, who is twice their size just to keep the tank clean. They chased him into a corner and would have killed him if he stayed in there for a day longer.
There is just no companions for convicts.
Only if you keep them in seperate tanks (1 per tank) can you add other cichlids. Then they tend not be so aggressive.
Have to admit that they are really some of the best parents you will find.

You could have a convict wet pet. Keep a big nice show male with a few fast moving dithers.

"responsible fish keeper?... Didn't know there was any other kind"

I am not retarded I just can't spell
