Hi Dee,
It's a jellybean parrotfish. They are one of the hybrids which are often condemn by other aquarists as hybrids are claimed to be decimating the pure/original strains.
Flowerhorns and blood parrots are often condemn because they are part of the hybridization process.

Why people are still not satisfied with the looks of pure strains I'll never understand. I'll apply this especially to dyed fish.

DYED FISH??!! You're kidding me. People actually dye fish? I would we know so we could avoid supporting that market? Dee

New 20 gal tank with African Ciclids. Having a great time with them. Who knew fish had such personalities?

why are the fry that i took out growing slower than the ones that i left in the tank? im feeding them 4 times a day and changing 10% of the water every other day. they still look the way they were when i took them out, but the ones that are still in the 100 gallon are developing the tail fin and becoming darker

That's strange. Exactly like what Eddie said when he mentioned it on livebearer fry.
But I find it possible because of the abundance of microoganisms(that served as food for fry) in the main tank.

yeah that would make sense. everytime i check up on the fry in the main tank, i see the fry eating off the rocks and stuff. would feeding the other fry more often be a good idea? or would the water get too dirty?

Feeding more is a good idea but you should siphon the leftovers and poo right after they're done feeding.

His convict fry should be big enough to escape being sucked. Better yet, keep a close eye on where you're siphoning.:)

Dont mean to muck up this post but I was afraid to use a siphon in my tank with the danios. should I not worry about it?
