Convict cichlid Question - all males or all females

Okay - since I have decided to consolidate my convict tanks down to one tank.... I was wondering

if I wanted to keep a pair (that doesn't breed) should it be all male or all female....

Right now I have two blue convict breeding and two pink convict breeding. So I have lots of fry (which most have been spoken for) but I wasn't sure that I could put two breeding pair into a 55g tank and they would survive....

Personally I like the pink convicts better -but I thought I'd decide now so I can start to rehome them...

Sam sex pairs happen in the cichlid world but it is fairly rare. Generally if you put two males in one tank one will be killed. If you put two females in one tank they MAY get along but there is a good chance one will be killed. i wouldn't count on trying to get same sexed pairs because it doesn't happen often.

"responsible fish keeper?... Didn't know there was any other kind"

I am not retarded I just can't spell
