Cichlids yes, but what kind

These 6 guys came with the tank. I was simply told African cichlids. I was wondering what kind they are and what would be compatible for later. They are in a 55 gallon long. Also what is the stocking maximum.

fish A- white, red eyes

fish B striped black and white, fish C yellow, with pinkish cheeks

fish D bluish with yellow fins, seems to be getting picked on by all the others, may have to move him, as you may be able to see his fins are nipped

fish E yellow and black spotted- mean little booger

And finally fish F, who looks alot like the one being picked on except for fin variations

Fish A: Could be an albino Zebra or Peacock. Very hard for me for tell without seeing a side view. My best guess would have to be a zebra with what I see.

Fish B: May be an Obliquidens

Fish C: Red Zebra

Fish D: Accii

Fish E: OB Zebra (OB=Orange/Black or blue)

Fish F: Hard for me to tell. Too dark. Would need a better pic to be positive.

Thank you so much. Here is a video where you can maybe see a little better. I spoke with the person I got them from and he said they all came from the same tank at the LFS with no species ID.

Mixed African cichids would be the name on the tank at LFS. They all are from a mixed africn stran a common name found at most larger fish stores like wal-mart, petsmart, petgo so more then likly there some inbreeding in some of them. So best bet would be mixed african cichlids.

I'm sorry Herefishy!! I honestly didn't mean to NOT thank you for your knowledgeable IDs. I have been researching them a great deal. And I understand that maybe I could stock a few more fish than this is the tank (it's 55gal) I am defiantly not wanting to overstock. The aggression toward the acei has calmed down. I looked at the African cichlid at the LFS today, but they all seemed to be younger and much smaller than these guys so I was scared to get anymore. WDYT? Any suggestions on what to add?

Most of the big box stores don't sell Africans by any sort of species name; they just throw all the juveniles in a tank labelled "Mixed African Cichlids" and sell them that way to unsuspecting customers. I think Texasguy was just trying to point this out, not suggest that they were any sort of mixed breeds.

I agree today at the LFS in the juvenile tank there were several species in the one tank. Yellow labs and acei for sure cause they were labeled but also a few others that i being a newb didn't recognize.

What happens at most suppliers/wholesalers is that as a tank becomes depleted of stock, the "leftovers" are all put into a single tank. These become "assorted" cichlids. One great thing here, there are times when the inadvertant prize makes it to you lfs. You come can come out a winner if the timing is right.
