It would depend entirely on what specific cichlids you have. Some tolerate other cichlids some don't. Some leave other fish in the tank alone and some will view them as food.
mine fight all the time, i dont get involved unless it gets real bad. i put a mirror up behind the fish tank and he would fight him self for hours leaving the other fish alone.
Cichlids are one of the three largest vertebrate families (according to Wikipedia). Even within the cichlids available in the aquarium hobby there is huge diversity. Some are peaceful community fish, some are predatory, many are territorial and aggressive.
