I just wanted to ask is it dangerous to keep Cichlids with guppies? :?

it really depends on the cichlids...i keep fancy guppies with my angelfish and i havent had any problems...i wouldnt keep them with altum angels cuz their mouths are alot bigger, but scalares are fine...i wouldnt recommend keeping them with other cichlids though. cichlids tend to do best with other cichlids from whatever region they are from. =)

Rams and guppies can be kept together but what bothers me the most is that guppies do not like soft water that the rams often need to thrive very well. We have to keep them in the conditions as close as their wild environment as possible.:wink2:

I have kept guppies and angelfish before and I have no problems with that combo except that once the scalares reach full-grown size, there is a tendency that they will consume the guppies.

On the side note, I find this weird but my 4 cm female blue ram managed to chomp a 2 cm guppy which is half its size.:shock2:  Believe me, sometimes cichlids will find a way to eat their tankmates.
