Would help to know what other fish are in the tank, what size tank, how long has tank been running with fish, what is the pH from your tapwater or water you use for weekly water changes?
Not many cichlids suitable for tanks holding small fishes and many of the smaller cichlids are only considered docile as far as cichlid's go.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

cockatoo dwarf cichlid's are usually okay for community tanks. They stay smallish and arent TOO agressive, even while breeding. (In my experience). I have 5 of them with a large group of rummynose tetra and a few lemon tetra and everyone gets along fine. But like 1077 said, lets see what your water parameters are and what other fish you have first.

Ditto what others are saying, but I have one Bolivian Ram in my community tank, and he is a fantastic fish. He has no aggression, very peaceful and I love him! Check out the profile section to learn more.
