Building a 55 gallon Malawi tank around a group of Yellow Labs

Howdy,
I sold a friend a 55 gallon tank and talked her into going Malawi on it. I know she likes the yellow labs, so I was thinking that an intial stocking list would include 1 male and 3 female yellow labs and a Synodontis multipunctatus. After that things get cloudy. I know that Auratus is right out for being too aggressive for the labs to handle. I was thinking some blue fish and some red fish, but I am a novice so far as Malawi is concerned. What is desired here are some pretty fish to fill out a 55 that will cooexist with Yellow Labs and a catfish. Can you give me some options?
Thanks.

I'm not an expert either, but peacocks are usually regarded as some of the less-aggressive Malawi fish. They're also readily available in a ton of color morphs, including blues and reds.

Maybe Fenestratus,Eduardi,or maybe one brichardi. Sorry I know the brichardi isn't red or blue but I like em!

OOPS Protomelas fenestratus, Pseudotropheus eduardi, and brichardi.
