Just put in a blood parrot, are these things normally mean? As soon as he was put in, he locked lips with my green terror, but now hes chasing and getting chased by the others.

There is no real behaviour for them as they are man made hybrids, some can be very peaceful and some can be aggressive.

It is not uncommon for them to be aggressive when being added into an aquarium for the first time.

Hmm I wonder who it is? Its gotta be either the GT or JD. I think ita the JD for right now, but that GT had some fight in him, the parrot is a tad bit bigger too!

ive had parrots for about 12 years. i started with 4 but over the years one would occasionally die. im down to one. hes pretty aggressive but he cant really do anything since his mouth is so small. basicly he just rams stuff lol. i love these fish and i will always have one. they do seem to be prone to swim bladder issues cuse of their deformed bodies. this perticular one ive never had any issues with but ive found its hit or miss.

I have one smaller parrot in the tank so when i came across a larger one for a great deal i got him. Wel,l in a matter of a couple hours the other fish beat him up prety bad. I tried to see if everyone would settle down through out the night but no luck, i had to pull him out and put him into a 20 gallon to save him. for some reason he would not stick up for himself or even swim away. I have had these in the past and it is hit or miss on whether or not they are aggressive or not.

Its been a while since i have been on the site. We were setting up our tanks about the same time. Turned out awsome! Looks great.
