Best Spirulina flake/pellets to use?

New to African cichlids, I currently have a mix of yellow labs, a couple Red zebras and 2 Saulosi in my tank, all of them juveniles with the exception of 2 of the red Zebras. I just picked up the New Life Spectrum Pellets, but read I should also supplement with Spirulina. Only real product I saw was by Tetra - Spirulina flakes. Are these any good? Any other reccomendations?

Look for Spirulina discs for catfish. Wardley, Ocean Nutrition and several others make them. New Life Spectrum has spirulina in it, so you wont need to supplement a lot extra.

Wardley's ingredients tend to be less than desirable. If you can find some of Omega One's veggie discs, those are very well balanced and have the stuff you are looking for.

thanks for the info guys. they seem to really love the new Life Spectrum pellets. I bought sheets of Algae to feed as a treat once a week, but first time I clipped a piece to teh glass, it took them 30 minutes to realize it wasnt something that would hurt them but food, and then only my yellow Labs enjoyed it. I was also going to try deshelled forzen peas. Taz would I need to just thaw them in the microwave, or actually cook them before feeding them to my African Cichlids?

You would let them "thaw" out like you would a pack of meat, do not cook the peas. You will also need to remove the skin from around the peas, you can do this after thawed by pinching the pea into a bowl, it will remove the skin from around the pea.
