unless it's a fluval 405 I doubt there is enough filtration on that tank. What kind of ammonia remover are you using on a fish tank? You shouldn't need an ammonia remover a clean established fish tank will have no ammonia and nitrite. It is cause by an insuffeciant bio filtration. When there is more fish waset than the bio media can break down you have ammonia and nitrite problems which at even low concentrations can be toxic to fish.

My first suggestion is try to get a test kit at least for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate so we can figure out what is going on in your tank.

Second up your water maintenance schedule because as it is now it is not good enough. You should be doing at least 50% water changes weekly. Also preferably a oscar should be kept in no less than a 75 gallon or around 300 liters.

third work on getting more filters for this tank. What you have is not sufficient.

I believe melafix will help cue damaged fins, wounds, etc caused by injury or tear. It won't cure HITHD though.

At first I thought they were open wounds, so I used Melafix then they heaped greatly and then I had to go away and it kinda got worse, so I put in more Melafix and it's healing him now. He's got gray scars on his body too and finrot, the Melafix sort of helped so I'm now thinking its not HLLE. One of my Oscars from a long time ago had HLLE and died and It doesn't look like anything my Oscar has now, so.. I'm still gonna get my water checked though.
