Any tough guys out there ?

Hey who ever sees this :p

I've been doing some research about cichlids and I came across some cichlids called shelldwellers! And there like the coolest thing ever! There super tough, and live in cool little colonies and breed in shells ect! But I really want a colony! And thing is is I have a 55 gallon with Mbuna, idk if any will be compatible! Like they'd most likely be bullied and stuff! :( so I was wondering if maybe there were any tough shell dwellers out there that can defend themselves?

Any suggestions? Thanks!! :D

In a word, NO. You would be best served setting up a 20 gal long tank for the shellies.

Shell Dwellers are very cool fish. They have very interesting behavior and the colony interaction is fun to watch. If you really want to see colony behavior they really need a tank of their own. A 20 long is a good choice, I have seen 40B and 55Gs that have amazing colonies in them as well.
