I have seen plenty of angelfish breeders keeping one pair per 20 gallon (high). This is normally where space is very crucial to allow more room for more tanks.

On the other hand, I have kept lots of angels, and i personally would not feel right about putting one in anything less than an 18" high tank. After keeping some nice, full grown specimens i can't bring myself to cram them in anything less - but that's just me.

I have 4 adult angels in a 55g 3 of which are veil fin. I have kept my mated pair in a 20h for breeding purposes but I wouldn't keep them in there on a permanent bases.

125g Planted rainbow and SA cichlid tank.
20g quarantine tank.
