Angelfish bullying???

I have a 50 gallon tank, mainly stocked with south/central American cichlids and two of my Angelfish have paired up and started breeding so now I am getting bullying issues. Before, during and after egg laying they are attempting to attack anything that goes near and fortunately so far no-one has got hurt but I really don't think it will be long before I have fatalities. I really dont want to get rid of them so I'm considering getting a tank just for them, I'm not planning on raising fry but if they survive I'll trade them. Will 2 angelfish be ok in a tank alone and what size tank would you recommend?

A pair should be ok by themselves. I say "should" because I have a "pair" that tend to beat the you-know-what out of each other the entire time they are not breeding. They are in a 55 gallon. Strange relationships, those chichlids...

While I know some will critique me for this tank size recommendation, I once had a breeding pair in a 29 gallon tank, with no other fish, and they got along great for years. A larger tank is, of course, preferred if you can afford it. Most recommendations I have seen tend to be around 40 gallons+ for a pair.
