I have 3 adult angelfish in a 36(see signature) and two of the angelfish paired. the pair is now picking on the other male, and his fins are all ragged. do you think i could put him in my empty 4 gallon until i find him a home? petco took my healthy Red Tailed Shark, but i dont think they want to resell a ragged finned angelfish... getting another tank is out of the question
that tank is way way to small even for holding. you could try a larger rubber made container or putting a divider in your tank till you can find a home for it. local fish forums is a good place to start or even craigslist. i rehomed my pleco on there in a few hours.
Got there, and saw the Betta fish. The females were so tiny! I got two, and ordered 5 ghost shrimp. She gave me seven by mistake. More for me! Posted via Mobile Device
Often you can make a sort of natural divider with decorations. Pairs will claim an area, they key off of objects in the tank for this territory. If the battered angel is on the other side of a decorated section that breaks the line of sight they won't pay any attention to it. Now if the beat up loner decides to wander into their territory it'll get chased off, some fish are slow learners with this, but they usually figure it out.
