Angelfish in a 20 Gallon High Tank

Dimensions: 24" L x 16" H x 12" W

Current inhabitants:
3 x False Julii Cory
3 x Twin-Barred Platies
2 x Guppies

Is this doable, or is 20 gallons too small for an Angel?

It's a high tank and the top half is pretty empty.

Thanks!

20 gal would be quite small for anything but juvenile Angelfish.
Would be better in your 55 gal, but may give chase, or eat smaller fish as Angelfish matures.

Far too small. Angelfish are schooling, you need at a bare minimum 4 of them. Unless you buy a mated pair (already have to be a mated pair) but you're still looking at a 30+ gallon aquarium.

Take a look at the profile here to learn about the most common species: Scalare Angelfish

You could squeeze 5 into a 55 gallon.

I'll be going with 6 in a 125g I'm in the processes of setting up.

I stocked my 55 with Rainbowfish. Now I'm just sitting back and waiting for them to grow up. :)

We're scouring the classifieds for a new tank right now.
