Im still setting up a 55 but am debating between getting a group of angels or 2 oscars. Can yall give me some plus and minus's for both. Or will 2 oscars be to big for a 55?

Heavily and fully stocked with two oscars. You could have a nice community with 2 angels.

Yes, I would say 2 Oscars would be pushing it in a 55 gallon. A 120 or 180 gallon would be better for a pair of Oscars. Keep in mind they are very messy cichlids and you would be doing large water changes at least once or twice a week to keep up with them. Also, Oscars can get to 14" each so the 12" width of a 55 would make for tight turning room once they reached full size.

alright well then it looks like angels are the way for me to go. But I can only really get away with 2 in a 55? what if I went only angels?

You could have lots of young angles if they were you only fish. However you will have issues if 2 pair up and breed as they will go after all the others.

Look at these beauties. If I were to have angels I'd definitely want some of these. Blue Neons. Gorgeous, don't you agree? I also really like the koi angels. Nice fish. Plus, with angels you could have a beautiful planted tank. Oscars would shred any plants you'd put in the tank with them.
