I deal with feeding issues by feeding smaller foods. It's hard to claim 50 pellets scattered throughout the tank. Big fish eat small foods just the same.
My eel wont touch a pellet or flake. It will only eat frozen food or live food. It is even choosy about what type of frozen food it eats. Ive raised him from new born and its about 1 and a half years old now.
I want to give him a mixed diet, any feeding tips would be appreciated.
I would say target feeding. Different ways to do it, but I like the mechanical "tongs" (not sure what they are called) or log grill tongs and you can hold a shrimp or something with and put it close so you can decide for the most part who will get it.
Its not an ideal tank size i know. I will rehome my eel in a larger tank when he out grows his current home. Im running an external Fluval 205 canister filter witch is more than enough for my tank. I have a deep 4inc sand and substrate bed. Im planning to revamp the look of this tank, by painting the beach trim - black and changing the background from blue to black and redoing the inside of the tank
