ive just recently setup a new 25 gallon cube tank to replace my rather tatty looking 20 and was wondering if i could use this for a small african setup the only occupant is a small syno cat
suggested species?(if atall)
some books suggest juliddochromis species any thoghts?
(i would use the ciclidforum but im banned for using the c word)
I wouldn't put any malawis in there, but you could definitely do some smaller Tangs. Julies, leleupi, brichardi or pulcher, any of the shelldwellers...
I don't know a lot about cichlids but the only thing I would say is to avoid any cichlid that is too territorial, or that enjoys caves. I tried cichlids in a tank (35g) with 2 synosontis and it caused all sorts of problems because despite there being a few different places to hide, the synos were all too eager to claim them all, and the ciclids wanted them and so resorted to bullying each other and other fish.
