are 10 juvie angels too many for a 55 gallon

i have 10 angels in a 55. 3 are quarter size, 5 are dime size, and 2 are half dollar. an angel died a few days ago that was a little larger than the quarters. he stopped eating and wasnt as active or sociable. i asked on another forum why he died and they all said it was a pecking order and he was at the bottom. to me i would think if this were true a dime wouldve died not the 3rd largest. another angel died the same way when i only had 5 in a 55 and they said that was the same thing a pecking order bc too many angels were in the tank. was planning to put 4 in each 55 and 2 in a 29 with backup 29s but theyre saying i need to rehome immediatly since i need to reseal a 55 and get a stand for it. so is what theyre saying true?

Did your tank go though a cycle yet? Iv been though this also. I would test the water for ph levels.

I've never found angels to be the hardiest of fish. It seems like you really need to follow parameters, feeding, temperature, etc. closely. Check out the profiles here and see how close you are to providing a good environment. Good luck.
