1 Fish for a 55g

Had a a friend ask me today; what would be the best single Cichlid for a one fish 55g tank? I told him a Oscar was a tight fit. He wants one Cichlid with some personality. I thought maybe a Green Terror or a Texas Cichild.

my dempsey, even tho he's a juvenile, he has alot of personality, he eats flake food from my fingers. i'd say a dempsey or an oscar. tho ive never had an oscar.

I don't support the sale of flowerhorn cichlids. A man-made hybrid marketed for a gimmicky reason.

Old thread, I know, but a Jaguar cichlid definitely needs a 75g or larger.

Yes, old thread but it's always worth repeating that using fish as a "gimmick" to make a buck is never a good thing.....
