Stocking for tetras

Hey everyone, I am just circling stocking options for my 14 gallon. Could 6 of each, Neon Tetras, Cardinal Tetras, and Rummy-nosed tetras work, I know its alot, but I hear that tetras dont put too much strain on an aquarium?

Why both neons and cardinals? They are very similar in looks. The cardinal is more robust. I think that if you ditch the neons and stock the cardinals and Rummys, you'll be just fine.

I agree. I think two schools in a 14 would be plenty. Maybe a snail to clean the bottom. :)

Sorry, I do have cardinals and neons, but in a larger tank. It is just fun to watch them, since they are different at close look and their behaviour also differs. They may school together, or sometimes those smaller neons can be a bit naughty and attack sluggish cardinals.

The rummynose are a bit bigger, and more active so if you are keen on having both neons and cardinals, I would be inclined to ditch the rummynose. Or perhaps you could consider glowlights and neons, or glowlights and cardinals? I always think these a school of each of these looks great together.

Don't mean to thread-jack. Jeaninel, that's sounds like a beautiful 10 gallon set-up in your signature. That is all.

I like cardinals better than neons. They're very similar but neons color will fade over time, whereas the cardinals will remain pretty!
