"silver tetra"(Gymnocorymbus bondi) temperment

There was a pretty large lack of info on these fish and, the info I did find contradicted the last piece of information! One site said there fin nippers the other said there skittish and peaceful! Which are they? If any one has any experience with these fish then please help me out.By the way my tank is a 55 with 4 platies and 2 angels(regular not veil tail)

H'm, I see I have another tetra to add to our profiles.

Fairly peaceful, but like many similar fish tend to be nippy with sedate fish, so I would not keep them with angels, discus, gourami, etc. You mention angels, so I would avoid this species.

Angels should also be in a group by the way, 4-5 in a 55g is fine, unless these are a mated pair. You can read more in our profile as to why and how to handle this, click on the shaded name, Pterophyllum scalare.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

My angels don't allow other angels in the tank but, haven't mated or anything. So adding more is not a option.
