Red Minor tetra has Popeye
I noticed yesterday that my red minor tetra's eye looked kinda funny, but could not tell what was going on. This morning it is bulged out a little more and starting to look kindof pale around the outside edges of the eye ball. Long story short, I think it may be due to a bacterial infection. I researched some treatments for popeye and everything I find says to use Maracyn, however I cannot get it in town where I live. Also, I read that increasing vitamin A can be helpful, but I am not sure what to feed him that is high in vit. A. Does anyone have any other recommendations in treating this until I can get some Maracyn?
Just some more info, I have a 30 gallon tank, I keep the pH around 6.8 - 7.0, ammonia, nitrites and nitrates are all stable, temp is around 76 to78 degrees F. I did do about a 40% water change this morning.
