Question about neon tetras...

I've got a tank with two neon tetras and some sort of catfish/cleaner fish in it. It seems a shame to waste it on just the three of them, so I was wondering how big guppy fry would have to be before I could put them in? I'm expecting at least one of my guppies to give birth in the next few days...

EDIT: Thinking about it, I'd like to add a different species or two into the tank - so what will and will not eat the fry? I'm quite limited on choice over here, to be honest! The tank's roughly 45 x 30 x 35cm in dimension; not sure what that is in gallons. It's got quite a few plastic plants and ornaments in it.

I'll try to get a picture of it tonight, but it probably won't be so good - I'm afraid the only camera I've got is the one on my mobile phone!

I've just come back from the fish shop, and the guy there only recommended putting tetras in with tetras - he had a few male guppies in with some (can't remember exactly what they were called, but one lot were silver with a black spot before the tail, the others had the tail half of their body red) and the guppies' tails had been chewed on, so I'm thinking it's maybe not such a good idea :p

Your tank is approx 10 gallons. This limits your choices but you could certainly have some more tatras or some guppies in there. You will need to know what type of catfish thoguht because many get quite big. Like Kate suggested, if you had a photo it would be helpful.

Another idea

You might want to add a few more neon tetras to your two. They do better in groups of 5 or more and would really add loads of color to your tank. I have guppies, black neons, dwarf gouramis and a red tailed shark with mine. I've read that the red tailed shark can be too agressive sometimes but mine works out just fine.
In your 10 gallon you could add 1 dwarf gourami and maybe a few guppies, platies or mollies.
