Neon Tetra Compatibility Q

Hi there!

I'm hooked on those wonderful little fish we call neon tetras, and I would very much like to add them to my aquarium. But, would they be compatible?

Tank mates:
Flame gourami x1
Mollies x2
Guppies x4 (One adult, adolescent fry)
Zebra Danios x4

The Aquarium:
Freshwater (Duh.)
25 gallon
pH: 8.0
Hard water.
Fully cycled, low Nitrate readings.

is it planted??? cause danios are nippy and guramis are territorial =)

It's planted with lots of plastic plants and a real sword.

with that type of stock list i wouldn't personally but thats my opinion most of the fishes on your list will give the neon stress and most of the time they die from it =(

I wouldn't recommend neons either. Mainly due to the water. Although they are tank raised and therefore somewhat adaptable to basic medium-hard water, they are still a soft water fish. A pH of 8 with corresponding hardness is quite high. Our profile of this species recommends soft water with a pH below 7.
