Speaking for personal experience.... No.
My friend and I set up a 400 gallon system in his basement. We added 6 Red Belly Pirahna, along with a number of other large fish, such as Oscars, Tinfoil Barbs,
Jack Dempsey, etc.
The other fish did not survive longer than a week or two. They were literally ripped to pieces. Just shredded. And watch your fingers, because these Pirahna are downright mean fish and WILL BITE, similar to a marine Triggerfish.
If you were going to give this a shot, I would suggest adding large armored catfish, and perhaps adult size Leporinus, which are native to Pirahna waters. But I can't support the idea.
Oh yes, be careful in transport. This is not a species you want to pick up with your hand, as I also learned the fun way!! LOL
