Zebra plecos

Does anyone on here actually have any??

My goal is to get some one day and breed them :) then sell them at a reasonable price so everyone can enjoy them.

I would love to hear if anyone has any especially if you've managed to breed them! Or even if anyone has seen any, where they were and how much they were selling for - it would be interesting to know!

Woah!! That's mad. The price seems to have up massively in just the last few years; I have been Reading on the net about them and posts from years ago say they were around £50. I guess people have just got greedy :( inflation hasn't gone up THAT much lol

Indeed, they are good articles; nice to see the original paper by Insbrucker & Nijssen who first described and named this beautiful fish.

We have fish profiles on this forum, second tab from the left in the blue bar at the top. This fish is included. When the name is written in posts as it appears in the profiles, it will be shaded, like this: Hypancistrus zebra

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
