will a banjo catfish eat a bamboo shrimp?

I have a 10 gallon tank with 1 bamboo shrimp and a snail population that is becoming a problem. I need to find a fish that will eat the snails and leave my current bamboo shrimp alone. I've heard that Banjo catfish will eat the snails bit I've heard differing reports as to whether it will bother my shrimp or not? Does anyone know the truth?

banjos are quite letargic catfish that spend most of there time buried in the substrate and they probably couldnt catch a rapid moving shrimp even if they tried

While I can't be sure, I should think that a bamboo shrimp would be too big for any but the largest banjo cat to even consider eating.

And banjo cats aren't lethargic - they're noctournal. Late at night, if you have enough of the right kind of light, you can see them moving around the tank at a pretty good clip. Shrimp are still probably a lot faster, though.

Absolutely. No worries. If you've never been sitting at your computer typing late at night and turned to your right to see something that looks like an eel trying to eat an old, rusty stop sign go zipping around your tank, then your experience of banjo cats will be, at most, seeing their tails sticking up out of the gravel in the fish store.

They're really neat. Unfortunately my turtle dug them up and ate them. Lesson learned.
