White spot on eye of Upside Down Catfish

Hi there everyone! I've had this Upside Down Catfish for a few weeks now to start a 10 gallon tank. He was housed with a Male Beta. Sadly the Beta died 2 days ago, at the age of 2. It was a really wierd death and i'm not sure if it was normal or not. He was fine one day, at least in the same stage that he had been for 2 weeks, I think he might have been sick but I wasn't very disease aware at that time (now am) and then the next day I was doing a partial water change and I found him death, he was covered in a fungus like substance, i'm not sure if it was fungus or bacteria but he had never showed any signs of it before. His whole body was covered so were his eyes they were all white.

So now my Upside Down Catfish has this white dot on his eye. I've just noticed it yesterday. He doesn't have any other white dots on his body. It only seems to be on the surface of his eye, his eye seems to be a little bit bigger than usual it looks as if you where to cut the dot away his eye would be normal. I keep my water very clean, but the death of the beta could have contaminated it.

So yesterday I raised the water temperature to 28c and added 2 tablespoons of aquarium salt. He doesn't seem to mind any of it.

Any help finding out what it is would be superly appreciated.

Ok so I treated the tank with salt and a raise in the temperature for 10 days. The treatment is all done and the white spot on his eye is gone, put there are some white dots on his body I was wondering if that was normal for the upside down cat fish since I've seen some pictures with them and white spots. It seems to be a pattern kinda thing. And there doesn't seem to be an inrease in the white spots. I got some good pictures of him, have a look and let me know what you guys think.

I'd say that looks like the typical pattern of an Upside Down Catfish. Sorry about your betta.

Ok thanks good, I was hoping he was ok. Ya, that beta was something else. Without him I would have never gotten interested in fish keeping.
