I've looked everywhere! I even dismantled the only tube that he could have swam into. Looked under all wood pieces, looked in one of the filters (although I KNOW he is too big to fit in these pipes). I don't see him on the floor around the tank or anywhere. Haven't seen him in a week. What can I do?

ok, that is comforting. but where could he be hiding? I have looked EVERYWHERE. In the plants, in the cave...everywhere!

by the way, he used to come out all the time, I would see him multiple times a day - until we added the discus....

I really hope that I am not misleading you here and giving you a false sense of security
BUT
as Sherlock Holmes once said
"The elimination of possibilities will yield the solution".

He was not on the floor, not in the filtration media, not in the tubing, etc. so he has "just got to be in the tank".

When the cleaning which I referenced previously was occurring while I was removing the rocks and wood from the tank, inspecting them for fish and placing them on the kitchen counter the "gal" which I run around with from New Mexico was brushing them with a toothbrush on the kitchen counter to remove small areas of algae and discoloration.

During the course of this cleaning process one of my GN's appeared on the counter. "Go figure" where he came from.

i once pulled out a plant and found my khuli hiding in it after i set it down in a bucket. Also one time i pulled out a ceramic cave that had a clown plec in it. I didnt know this until i saw my daughter and dog next to me flippin out over something on the floor. Dont give up hope yet. Im my experience plecs are masters of hiding when they want to. try pulling out all your ornaments or what have you and put them in a bucket slightly filled with tank water and search them really well.
