Which Type of Dwarf Cory?

Hi!

So I have officially decided to keep some type of dwarf cories in my 10 gallon tank. I am deciding between the c. habrosus, hastatus, and pymaeous. I like the look of the habrosus the most, but I heard that the pygmaeous is hardier. I am new, so I definitely am not ready for fragile little things.

I am wondering if you guys think that I will be able to successfully keep the c. habrosus. If I cannot keep habrosus because they are fragile, what about the hastatus? How hardy are they?

Also, I know that dwarf cories tend to swim in the middle of the tank more than other cories. Which one of these dwarf species will stick to the bottom most?

Thanks!

I have hasbrosus and pygmy mixed together, I have to say the hasbrosus is more active and swim on the bottom. They'll occationally swim in the middle, but the bottom the most.

As of 02/02/14: 5.5 Gallon NPT - Plat ----------------29 gallon - Awaiting bleach bombing and selling
46 gallon bow - 5 glass cats, 6 kuhlii loaches, 2 rasboras, 1 parkinsoni rainbow, 8 White Tip Tetras, 1 bristlenose pleco, 5 julii corydoras, 1 bolivian ram, 7 neon tetras , 2 female sunset gouramis, 10 dainty corydoras, shrimp and snails

Agree. C. hastatus is up in mid-water most of the time, C. pygmaeus also but less, and C. habrosus least of all (more time on the substrate).

None of these are very "hardy" by comparison to all other corys I've had and spawned many of them. Sand is essential, and in a 10g a group of 9-12 is good.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business.
