There is something one can do to train them to come out during the day? If so, I want to know what it is too! My pictus hides in his cave all day long. His cave is a piece of driftwood that has a hole in the side of it and I've placed it so that the hole faces forward as you are looking in the tank. He's almost always peering out from that hole so I'm able to view his funny face 90% of the time. If they can't be trained to "come out" maybe you can position their favorite hiding spots forward and close enough to the front of the tank so that you can see them like I can mine??

one of mine is the same way i have a small cave i made out of rocks it faces me he moves aroung during the day to a couple other spots during the day but always is hiding in one of thosethree spots. my other one is in this huge tree trunk thats the center piece of my tank. that one is cool becouse its big so some times you see him swimming in there.

though I have never heard of training a pictus I do have luck getting mine to come out by simply changing the color of my aquarium light . A lot of times i will put a dim red light on my aquarium and my pictus seem to enjoy it i can sit there for a long period of time and just watch them swim and play. They appear to be very shy in brightness maybe you could try this approach it doesn't cost much and it lets me enjoy a normally nocturnal fish.......good luck

I've got the moonlights for my tank (blue hue). My loaches & bristlenose LOVE the blue hue and become incredibly active once it switches on. How would a red hue affect them? If I were to use a red hue would my pictus be more active & visible than with the blue hue?

They're kinda bossy too...

Which one wouldn't let you take the lighthouse away? The bumblebee cat?
